The opera Don Giovanni by composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart is one of many operas based on the legend of Don Juan, and is considered one of the greatest pieces of music ever composed. The first appearance of Don Juan in literature is in Spain c.1615. The basic story is Don Juan seduces as many women as he can; is he the cad and villian only for his own pleasure? or does he have a gift of seeing beauty in every woman and can't resist the attraction? In either case, Don Juan ends up in Hell.
