Global warming is a serious problem, but with some info YOU are up to the challenge of doing your part. Here are some earth friendly steps you can take...
On the road - Drive or ride in cars less
• Take your bike
• Walk
• Car pool
• Hop on the bus and train
• Walk into fast food restaurants instead of using the drive through.
At home
• Turn off the lights
• Buy compact flourescent bulbs
• Run you dishwasher only with a full-load
• Unplug electronics (cell phone chargers) when not in use
• Take shorter showers and turn off water when brushing your teeth.
At your yard
• Use a push mower to mow your grass
• Air dry your clothes on a line outdoors
• Plant a tree – Trees suck up carbon dioxide and make clean air for us to breathe.
At the store
• Bring cloth bags to the market
• Buy products with less packaging
• Buy items made locally to reduce the energy required to drive the products to your store
• Buy organic food – Chemicals used in modern agriculture pollute the water wupply and require energy to produce
• Make sure to buy appliances with the energy star label. This label indicates appliances use less electricity.
