Italian Romantic composer Giuseppe Verdi was one of the most influential composers of Italian opera in the 19th century. His masterworks are standards in opera repertoire.

La Traviata opera (1853) is based on La dame aux Camélias (1852), a play that was adapted from the novel by Alexandre Dumas, fils. The title translates as The Woman Who Goes Astray or The Fallen Woman.

Violetta, the main character is a courtesan, in love with the young nobleman Alfredo, dies from tuberculosis.

Il Trovatore opera (1853, Rome), set in 15th century Spain, is based on a play by Antonio Garcia Gatteerez.

Il Trovatore or The Troubadour, an opera in four acts by composer Guiseppe Verdi, is a suspenseful story about the royal di Luna family and a poor gypsy family.

A narrator lets us know that Azucena, a gypsy woman avenges the wrongful execution of her mother by stealing the younger of the old count's two sons. She raises the baby as Manrico in place of her own baby that she threw in the flames by mistake, thinking that some day she can have vengence through him - and so the opera begins!

Il Trovatore (The Troubadour) - a suspenseful story about a corrupt count, a dashing warrior and a Gypsy who plots to avenge her mother's wrongful death.
