Chopin Recital by Janine Johnson

Frederic Chopin (Fryderyk)
b. 3-1-1810; Zelazowa, Poland
d. 10-17-1849; Paris

Frederic Chopin was a 19th Century Romantic composer and pianist of Polish and French ancestry.

Considered a child prodigy Chopin left Poland at the age twenty due to political uprising and was one of the many Polish expatriates of the "Great Emigration”; other notable expatriate Poles were Joseph Conrad (1857-1924), Marie Curie (1867-1934), and Guillaume Apollinaire (1880-1918).

Chopin and feminist author known as George Sand had a notable ten year relationship that ended before his death.
