Walt Disney's Goofy, an animated anthropomorphic dog character, is one of Mickey Mouse's best friends. Goofy first appeared in 1932 and was described as “a composite of an everlasting optimist, a gullible good samaritan, a halfwit and a shiftless, good-natured hick”.

Grey Wolf (Leader the Dog) is a brave dog who must constantly fight for survival in the forbidding woods and frontier towns of northern Quebec. At first mistaken for a wolf and almost shot, he's befriended by a fur trader. As the tale unfolds the fur trader is in dire need of some help tracking the thieves of his furs and grey wolf is just the help he needs. (Silent film with original organ score.)

Gromit is the anthropomorphic intelligent dog companion to Wallace, an absent-minded inventor. They are the main characters in a series of animated films. The technique of filming the characters that are made from molded plasticine clay on metal armatures is called stop motion clay animation.
